Make A Wii Hd

Make a Wii HD

Despite the fact that Nintendo’s Wii home video game console outputs at standard definition, that shouldn’t keep you from using it in conjunction with a high definition television. When hooked up to an HDTV, the Wii will look the absolute best it can and provide you with the refreshing detail that the game designers had in mind. Hooking up a Wii to an HDTV requires only a few cables and a few moments of your time.

Instructions

1. Purchase the official Nintendo Wii component audio and video cables. Due to the specialized output for the cables on the back of the Wii, regular component audio and video cables will not work. You can find the specialized official Wii cables at any electronics retailer that sells Wii accessories or at www.nintendo.com.

2. Locate the component audio and video input plugs on your television. On most TV models, they will be on the back of the unit, though some models have them on the side.

3. Connect the component video cables to their respective plugs on your television. They are color coded to avoid confusion. Plug the green, blue and red cables into the green, blue and red plugs, respectively.

4. Connect the audio cables to the plugs on your television. Just as with the video cables, these are color coded. Plug the red cable into the red plug and the white cable into the white plug.

5. Plug the rectangular plastic end of the component cables into the port labeled “Digital AV Out” on the back of your Wii. This will allow the component video and audio signals to travel from your Wii to your television.

6. Turn on your Wii. You will now be able to use your Wii in conjunction with your high definition television set.
